76. Falling in love again...

After a very long time, I fell in love with Kabul again tonight. I was being driven home after it had started snowing for 15 minutes. The roads were silent and empty. The city was covered with a fresh layer of white snow and the headlights from our car were illuminating the falling snow. With Ahmad Zahir's golden voice playing on the radio, I was taken back to a time when i was in love with this country, its landscape, and its people. I wished we could keep driving all night. This is the Kabul I had fallen in love with 10 years ago. I know tomorrow the city will be covered with brown slush, cars and pedestrians will be fighting for space on the streets and I will fall out of love again but for just this one night, I wish time would stand still.

  1. Stop it!! No falling in love again. We need you back home. So stop with the delusions!

  2. Wajma is funny and very straight forward! You took me back to old times too. I always loved the Winter time in Kabul, especially when the snow is falling. I used to go out of the house and stand under the snow, close my eyes, look up and open my mouth to get some snow in my mouth. Those were the best years of my life being a little girl and play in the snow. Anyways, Wajma is right you need to fall out of love and come back because it's not the same there anymore.
