100. May 2014

Enjoying a beautiful Spring day in Kabul with my good friend, Farid.
  • Presidential Elections goes to 2nd Round.
  •  It's cold, then hot, then pour raining and thunder storms, then humid, then cold again all in one day.
  • The Afghanistan Soccer Team is on a winning streak.
  • Business is still slow.
  • The kids outside my house are signing the ABC Song.
  • Had real frozen yogurt from Cherry Berry in Wazir Akbar Khan.
  • Moved back into my newly remodeled old apartment.
  • Khurshid is still a mess.
  • PAYK is off to a good start.
  • Looking forward to working on the Rumi Awards....stay tuned for more.
  • Thinking of buying a car....oh wait, I can't drive in Kabul.
  • Looking forward to ending the month in Dubai.
  • Mom said she misses me :-(
  • Made a new friend, reconnected with an old friend and loving my current friends some more.
  • Played badminton.
  • Spent time with a friend who was on one of my delegations from 12 years ago.
  • Ate well - Salmon, Steak, Shorwah-e-Istalifi, Kichri Herati, Pizza from ISAF, Mushroom Ravioli.
  • Only watched 6 movies so far.
  • Had lunch with one of Ahmad Zahir's best friends - great stories.
  • The city is starting to stink - trash and hot weather don't mix well.
  • Daydreaming of sitting by the river in Panjshir a lot these days.
  • Gun shots heard almost every night but doesn't even make me jump anymore.
  • Posting my 100th post on my blog.
  • Got a new old TV with a remote that works. - Trust me...this is the highlight of the month.
Government is still corrupt and inept, beggars are still on the streets, people are still lazy and I still get stared at all the time, but all in all, it's been a good month for Nilufar in Afghanistan.
