71. Rats in Afghanistan
I think I just had a mini-stroke. A rat just crawled out of the trash bin in my office and hid in the corner of the room. I left the door open and I think my screaming scared it. It ran out and down the stairs so fast. Seriously, I can pet a snake, keep a scorpion as a pet, pick up black widow spiders but the sight of a rat gives me a heart attack. I'm so paranoid now, every little sound I hear in my office makes me jump. Is there such a thing as rat-phobia? If so, is it treatable?
Rats in Afghanistan:
- can apparently jump - because I kid you not, one jumped out of my kitchen cabinet drawer once. (I move out of that place, the very next day.)
- have the same taste in restaurants as expats do. -- see one at every restaurant I go to (except Boccaccio....so far)
- are not white and cute.
- can apparently climb UP.
- are stubborn and persist.
- serve absolute NO purpose -- for those of you who are about to tell me that they get rid of something else...I don't care!
